ScrollWorx and Reticle Red both turn an outline into scrollwork
ScrollWorx relaunched on October 21, 2026 as a browser suite that starts with scrollwork: upload a solid black outline, pick a style such as Victorian, Art Nouveau or Celtic, and download a high-resolution PNG, with holes left as negative space. It adds credit tools for tags, depth maps, challenge coins and 3D traces, and free vector, pattern and fiber-colour calibration tools. Reticle Red's Fabricator fits art to a photo or outline of the real part at true size and exports LightBurn, xTool and EZCAD files with the holes and edges kept clear.

Frequently asked questions: Reticle Red vs ScrollWorx
Is ScrollWorx the same kind of tool as The Fabricator?
For one job, yes: both take an outline and return scrollwork with the holes left open. ScrollWorx starts from a solid black outline on a white background and returns a PNG on a square canvas. The Fabricator starts from a photo or outline of the actual part, fits the art at true size and exports a machine file.
What does ScrollWorx cost?
At the October 22, 2026 review: $1 buys 5 credits, the minimum purchase is $5, credits never expire, a Standard generation costs 1 credit and Ultra 2K or 4K costs 2, and new accounts get 3 starter credits. ScrollWorx notes that AI output varies and suggests planning on a few runs.
What happens when a run fails?
Reticle Red refunds the credits of a failed AI run automatically, usually within a minute. The ScrollWorx pages read at review did not state a refund rule.
Does ScrollWorx also make challenge coins?
Yes. CoinWorx builds an emblem relief with arched legend text and exports a laser height map and a client mockup. Reticle Red's Coin Designer does the same job; compare both on your own emblem.
Production checks before you export from Reticle Red or ScrollWorx
Before engraving scrollwork from either tool, open the file at the part’s real size and check three things: that every hole and screw boss is still empty, that no line is thinner than your laser’s smallest clean mark, and that the border hugs the outline instead of a square canvas. Run the finest section on scrap first.
