Do I need an account to use the test grid generator?

No. There is no account, no email, and no credit card. The generator runs entirely in your browser and the .lbrn2 file downloads straight to your machine.

What exactly does the .lbrn2 file contain?

One LightBurn layer per grid cell, with that cell's speed, power, passes and interval already written into the layer settings. You open it in LightBurn and fire it — there is nothing to re-key and no PowerScale bookkeeping.

How many cells can one grid have?

Up to 30. That is LightBurn's primary layer limit (C00–C29), and the generator refuses to build a file that would exceed it rather than emitting one that imports wrong.

Can I make a kerf or line-interval test instead?

Yes. The same generator writes a line-spacing (interval) test for dialing in engrave DPI, and a kerf fitment test for cut-width compensation on press-fit joints.

Is my image or design uploaded anywhere?

No. A test grid is generated geometry, not an upload — nothing leaves your browser. The file is built client-side and handed straight to your download folder.
