Design files for xTool Creative Space
xTool Creative Space (XCS) imports SVG, DXF, PNG and JPG files. Reticle Red makes them: a finger-joint box, a true-scale part outline or a prepared photo for free in your browser, or AI artwork fitted to the part you are engraving, exported as an xTool SVG with a red locating outline for the camera.

Two ways to make a file for your xTool

Box Maker downloads a finger-joint box, coaster or polygon box as SVG or DXF at true size. Image Lab prepares and dithers a photo into a PNG. For a fiber or MOPA machine, the MOPA Colour Sweep in the Laser Lab writes a native .xcs color test card for the xTool F2 Ultra. All of it is free, with no account.

Paint the art zone on a photo or outline of the part and fire: the art is generated inside that zone with holes and borders left clear. On the Download card, pick xTool for an SVG carrying a red locating outline. The Run Plan shows the engine and the live price before anything runs, and failed AI jobs refund automatically.
Open a Reticle Red file in xTool Creative Space
-
1. Import the design
In XCS, choose File > Import image, or click the Image icon in the left sidebar, and pick the SVG, DXF or PNG. xTool lists JPG, JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP, SVG, DXF and WEBP as the formats XCS imports.
-
2. Open an .xcs project
The MOPA color test card is a whole XCS project, so open it with File > Open project instead; that command opens XCS files only. It is built for the xTool F2 Ultra.
-
3. Line up, then switch off the outline
Use the red locating outline on the Fabricator xTool SVG to place the art on the camera view, turn that outline off so it does not burn, then test on scrap.
Questions xTool owners ask
Which Reticle Red files open in xTool Creative Space?
SVG, DXF and PNG through File > Import image, and the MOPA color test card .xcs through File > Open project. The Fabricator xTool SVG keeps the art at the part size you type.
Is the .xcs test card for every xTool machine?
No. It is written for the xTool F2 Ultra, the fiber and MOPA machine it was checked against. Other machines can use the SVG, DXF and PNG downloads.
Do I need an account?
Not for the free tools. The AI fill in the Fabricator needs a free account, and new accounts get 12 welcome credits with no card.
Production checks before you export
Use the workflow on a representative sample before committing customer material. Confirm the finished dimensions, smallest line weight, layer assignments, focus, and machine parameters in the software that will run the job. A short test on matching scrap catches scale, contrast, kerf, and material-finish differences while they are still inexpensive to correct.
