Choose the output for the operation

Use Photo Prep for a raster photograph, a vector tool for editable cut or score paths, and Map Maker for separated map features. Where a native LightBurn export is available, inspect its layers after import. SVG and image files still need their intended operations and machine settings assigned.

Check scale and layers before assigning settings

Compare the imported width and height with the measured blank. Inspect small text, duplicate paths, closed shapes and layer order at the final size. For a raster image, confirm whether it has already been dithered so a second conversion does not destroy the prepared dot pattern.

Preview, frame and test the actual job

Preview the job in LightBurn, check the intended cut and engrave sequence, and frame within the usable work area. Run a small sample with the same material and setup before the full piece. Save the source artwork with the working project so future edits retain the original geometry.
