Do I need shielding gas or any other supplies?

Yes — the SFW1200 uses argon shielding gas, which you supply locally, plus standard welding wire for the integrated feeder. Beyond that it is air-cooled and runs on single-phase 220 V / 60 Hz at up to 4.5 kW, so there is no chiller or three-phase service to arrange.

How thick can it actually weld?

At its 1200 W rating the SFW1200 welds stainless steel up to about 2.8 mm in a single pass, with roughly 2.1 mm of penetration; aluminum and carbon steel run at about 80% of the stainless figures on the same settings. If your work is consistently thicker than that, say so in your quote request and we will tell you honestly whether this machine fits.

Do I need welding experience to run it?

Power, speed and pulse are set on the on-board touchscreen — no laptop, no software license — and the trigger-fired gun handles butt, fillet, vertical and stitch joints. Laser welding still demands the same safety discipline as any welding, including proper eye protection and a controlled work area; we are happy to talk through operator and safety requirements during quoting.

Can I buy the welder online?

The posted price is a preliminary U.S. DDP list price, not an online checkout offer. A U.S. request receives the current price sheet automatically; we still confirm the exact configuration, ship-to address, freight scope, lead time and order terms before payment.
