Crystal Fabricator — 3D Internal Glass Engraving

Generate millimeter-scaled 3D point clouds for subsurface crystal and glass engraving, with live bounds, point spacing, XYZ, and binary PLY export.

Capabilities & Feature Set

  • Generates 3D-carving-ready depth maps using custom-trained AI model pipelines.
  • Real-time browser-based 3D material preview simulating glass, slate, and brass.
  • Sub-surface laser engraving (SSLE) point-cloud data preparation.
  • Strict height-field controls for reliable depth slicing without artifact drift.

What Operators Say

“I love this software!”
Patrick Hussey — Laser engraver · went from never touching the software to firing real burns in his first week
“This is the easiest I have seen.”
Chris Clark — Laser engraver · Vanguard pack customer · builds custom 1911 grips
“Reticle Red is becoming one of my favorite software to use. It has a lot of tools that many others do not, and approaches things differently to create more consistent results. A++”
Daniel Webster — Laser engraver · long-time power user
“Reticle Red definitely takes the guess work out of your design work with tutorials to walk through the process. I highly recommend it.”
Justin Brown — Laser engraver

Frequently Asked Questions

What machine do I need for internal crystal engraving?

Sub-surface laser engraving requires a dedicated SSLE machine — a green (532nm) or infrared laser that focuses inside the crystal without marking the surface. Crystal Fabricator prepares the point-cloud data; it does not drive the machine directly.

What file does Crystal Fabricator export?

A 3D point cloud plus a depth-map height field. Point-cloud data imports into the software that ships with most SSLE machines, and the height field can be used for 2.5D relief carving on other systems.

Can I preview the result before engraving?

Yes. The browser-based 3D material preview simulates glass, crystal, slate, and brass in real time so you can judge depth and contrast before committing a blank.

Does Crystal Fabricator cost credits?

Depth-map generation costs credits by engine tier; the deterministic controls, 3D preview, and export are free. A failed run refunds automatically — the refund appears in your credit ledger within a minute.
